Returning With Mac: Tim Faulkner

Over the next 4 weeks we are going to be taking a look at the players who were released on our protected list for 2023-2024. This weekly series will be a reflection of who these players are, where they have come from, and what makes us excited to bring them back to Macon. Give it up as we welcome back #2 Tim Faulkner.

Faulkner, a 27-year-old from New Baden, IL, came to Macon in a 5 man deal that saw Tim, Liam Blackburn, and Kenny Britton arrive in Macon and Bryan Etter and Roshen Jaswal head to Evansville. Despite having only played 6 games in Evansville Faulkner’s 4 points spoke volumes to Macon’s Coach Niedert and after trading to get him Tim entered the lineup right away.

The Left handed Defenseman began his career with the Twin Bridges Lightning AA teams where he played 128 games with 55 points and 109 penalty minutes over three seasons. In 2013-14 Faulkner played for the St Louis AAA Blues in the Tier 1 EHL 18u where he played 35 games, had 10 points and 26 penalty minutes. This got notice from the Springfield Jr Blues who drafted Tim 55th over all in the 2014 draft. Faulkner played just 12 games in Springfield before moving onto Odessa,TX and the Jackalopes where he spent 15 games before getting the call from the Fargo Force of the USHL. The next season Odessa used their 25th overall pick to acquire Tim at the 2015 Draft.

Once again the Left-handed d-man played just 20 games for the team who drafted him before being moved to the Brookings Blizzard. Brookings seemed a comfortable home for Faulkner who played 71 games there scoring 24 points and putting up 201 penalty minutes over a season and a half. After Junior hockey had run its course Tim went to Aurora University in Aurora, IL where he played 3 seasons, two as an NCAA division 3 school and one as an ACHA division 2 school.

After the end of the Pandemic Faulkner went pro joining the Evansville Thunderbolts for 46 games totaling 10 points and 61 penalty minutes and playing in both of Evansville’s playoff games. After playing 6 games for Evansville this season Macon acquired Tim in the aforementioned trade and despite playing 32 games in the SPHL Faulkner spent 18 games in the ECHL with Greenville, Savannah, Trois-Rivieres, and Worcester.

Keep an eye out every Thursday for another look at one of our returning players!
