Returning With Mac: Adam Eby

Over the next 7 weeks we are going to be taking a look at the players who were released on our protected list for 2023-2024. This weekly series will be a reflection of who these players are, where they have come from, and what makes us excited to bring them back to Macon. Help us welcome Defenseman Adam Eby.

Eby, a 25-year-old from Lancaster, PA, came to Macon after a trade with the Peoria Rivermen at the end of the 2022-2023 season.

The left handed Defenseman began his career playing for Manheim Township High where he posted 17 points in 18 games with 9 goals and 8 assists. Adam Moved on to play for the Central Penn Panthers in the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League where he once again put up 20 points in 44 games. Eby left the MJHL to play for the New Jersey Jr Titans for 44 games in 2015-16 before getting a call up to the NAHL and the Kenai River Brown Bears.

Adam returned home to the Philadelphia Flyers Elite USPHL team in 2016-17, but after 18 games moved on to the South Shore Kings for another 7 games, and finished the season including a game of playoffs with the PAL Junior Islanders. Despite all the moving around Eby posted 4 points and 12 penalty minutes in the USPHL Premier League.

Elmira College and their Division 3 program beckoned to Adam for his college hockey. Eby played 107 games with 19 points and earned the Captain’s C on his chest for his final two years in the NCAA having lost time due to the COVID shutdown. After his final season came to an end in 2021-22 Adam joined the Vermilion County Bobcats for 7 games of their inaugural season. Eby was protected going into 2022-23 and stayed with Vermilion for 30 games and 5 points while being loaned to Reading for 12 games midseason before being finally signed by Peoria where he played 1 game.

Coach Niedert had signed Adam out of Elmira College a year ago during his tenure in Vermilion County and knows that with his work ethic and hockey sense that he will be a great defender to have in the lineup going forward.

Keep an eye out every Thursday for another look at one of our returning players!
