Mayhem Makes Coaching and Management Changes for the 2022-23 Season

MACON GA – Macon Mayhem Ownership is excited to announce a new collaboration with sports media company, Field Pass. Field Pass has been brought into the organization as a consultant for Front Office and Hockey Operations on a contract that lasts through the 2023-24 hockey season.

Field Pass is led by senior partners, David Arnott and David Koonce. The company specializes in sports marketing, sports media, and team management. In 2021, Field Pass acquired and rebranded national magazine, the Sin Bin (Field Pass Hockey), which covers professional hockey throughout North America which includes the AHL, ECHL, and SPHL.

“We are thrilled to be working with the Mayhem,” said David Arnott. “It is a great team in a great city with even greater fans and we can’t wait to help elevate the brand and culture of the Macon Mayhem over the next few years.”

Mayhem owner, Dr. John Sapp has also named Anna Marie Summers the new General Manager for the organization. Summers has 3 years of experience in Macon as the Assistant GM and Director of Corporate Relations. Before her career with the Mayhem, she spent time with the Savannah Bananas and Mercer University. “Anna Marie was the obvious choice for my General Manager. She has knowledge of the team, fans, and Macon. Her commitment to the team is unequaled as is her competence.”

On August 10, head coach Zac Desjardins was relieved of his coaching duties with the team. The Mayhem ended the 2021-22 season in tenth place with a record of 10-40-3 under Desjardins. Both Coach Desjardins and his wife will leave having made a positive contribution to the team and Macon during their time here. Macon General Manager, Anna Marie Summers has begun the interview process for candidates as the team’s new head coach and a formal announcement will be made in the near future.
