MACON, GA – The Macon Mayhem of the Southern Professional Hockey League are proud to announce they have come to terms with Vincent Dekumbis. Dekumbis will be joining the Mayhem’s 2022-23 training camp later this fall.
Dekumbis is a forward entering his first season of professional hockey after playing collegiately at Lawrence University, a Division III school. He registered 55 points over 84 games at Lawrence University. The 5’11” forward is originally from Fribourg, Switzerland but has played in North America since 2013. The 24 year-old is viewed highly by the Mayhem coaching staff as an excellent blend of size, speed, and hockey IQ with more room for development.
“Looking at what Vincent Dekumbis has put on film collegiately, we are very excited about what he can provide,” said Mayhem Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Zac Desjardins. “He [Dekumbis] brings both some finesse and grit to his game. He has tremendous hands and is a very mentally sound player. Dekumbis grew up playing a different style of hockey as the European game is played more in the open ice and is about pacing. Having played in North America for nine seasons, he’s grown accustomed to the physicality of play here though. We expect him to bring the best of both worlds in regards to his playing style.”
The Swiss forward, Vincent Dekumbis, and the rest of the Mayhem squad will report to training camp in the middle of October looking to earn a spot on the Opening Night roster. For a current list of the Mayhem’s training camp roster, click here.
